This time the students met in Sweden and were greeted with beautiful sunshine.
The first day was filled enlightening lectures at the Karolinska Institutet focusing on Nucleic Acid therapies, enriching students primarily from the synthetic side with a profound comprehension of their research applications. A diverse range of topics spanning from oligonucleotide therapeutics to the utilization of CRISPR-Cas9 technologies, and further emphasizing the delivery aspects of these therapeutics. The following day, they had the opportunity to visit AstraZenecaGothenburg which gave us an insight into the history of the company as well as the workflow in the R&D department.
